Next week Out & Equal Workplace Equality Summit returns to Texas for its annual LGBT workplace equality conference and with it an estimated 3,000 diversity leaders and champions will meet to highlight global LGBT achievements in the workplace, discuss opportunities and to share best practices.  The four day conference will feature over 100 sessions, each focusing on different aspects of creating and fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can choose to bring their whole self to work.

Having attended the summit in 2010, 2011, in London in 2012 and then presented in 2013, this year I’ve been fortunate enough to receive support and sponsorship from Deutsche Bank again to attend the 2015 summit. I will be joined by a number of colleagues from our US LGBT employee networks, and look forward to meeting up with friends and acquaintances from London and across the world.

Past conferences have provided me the opportunity to learn about and discuss a number of topics, including but not limited to developing allies, unconscious bias, personal brand, generational differences, social media, cultural differences with regards LGBT equality on a global scale and of course presenting in 2013 in Minneapolis on “Accelerating Cultural Change by Connecting Employee Networks Globally“.  As I sit in the lounge in London Heathrow I look forward to filling my flight by reviewing this years agenda.  Any recommendations?… leave a comment.

Are you going?

If you’ll be at the summit, then say hey if you see me about. If you’ve forgotten what I look like or are expecting to still see my longer hair, then see my latest mug shot on my homepage.

Sharing highlights

I’ll be sharing my own key takeaways, lessons learnt and actions from the conference, via Twitter and this blog.  Keep watching and join the conversation by following Out & Equal on twitter, or interact with my thoughts by commenting on these blogs and on twitter.
